How the programme unfolded
The account in sequence, from request to what followed.
- 01Background
How the invitation was made
A participant was invited to share their experience only after the programme had ended and any support relationship was clear of pressure. The invitation explained that taking part was voluntary and that declining would not affect access to support in any way.
- 02Consent
What was agreed before writing
The person was told what might be published, where it could appear and how long it would remain available. Consent was recorded, and it was made clear that it could be withdrawn later. Identifying details were reduced together with the person rather than decided for them.
- 03The account
Experience in their own framing
The account keeps the difficult parts intact: what was hard, what was uncertain and what remained unresolved. Editing was limited to clarity and privacy. The story was returned to the person for approval before publication.
- 04Boundaries
What this story does not claim
One person's experience is not evidence of a typical result and is never offered as a promise to anyone else. The account is published as a single perspective, with other influences acknowledged and no implied guarantee attached.
A story is shared only when the person or group has understood what may be published, where it may appear and that participation is voluntary. Identifying details are reduced where possible, and consent is not treated as permission to exaggerate, simplify or remove difficult context.
A single experience does not represent every participant and is never presented as a guaranteed result for another person. The account should preserve limitations, acknowledge other influences and avoid language that turns a person's experience into a promotional claim.
Thrivewell will not publish a learner's or participant's name, image, quote or case detail without an appropriate approval and documented consent process. If consent changes, publication should be reviewed and withdrawn where reasonably possible.
